Soundproof curtains can help to reduce noise in the home. If constructed as a screen, these are portable and can be placed against windows or walls that are letting in unwanted noise.

You can have a number of panels mounted on frames and several screens can be snapped together depending on the size needed. This could be a good solution for renters needing to shield themselves from noisy neighbors or traffic noise - they don't require any alteration to the property and you can take them with you if you leave.

Noise reducing devices receive what is known as an NRC rating. A curtain with a 0.7 NRC rating will absorb 70% of the noise in a space. They can be made of foam, quilted fiberglass or natural materials.
